Hi, I’m Jessica, the author of Heal Yourself Yoga, a beautiful place where you go to find relief and hope. I’m happy you’re here, because that means you’ll feel better.
What I’m offering is special.
And I don’t say that in a boastful or arrogant way. Far from it. I’m confident in what I’ve created because it’s based on Yogic technologies that are thousands of years old.
They’ve stood the test of time and helped many. Including me. That’s the entire reason I created this space. I want others to feel what I feel. I want those who hurt, not to hurt. I want you to have the tools to get yourself out of dark places and back to the light.
That is your birthright. To change your energy, your internal experience, at any time.
There are many ways to do this, especially in the Yogic tradition, but I’m most concerned about the quick and effective ones. Because this is real life.
And my real life needed:
Very real help with anxiety & depression.
Tools to deal with daily stressors like kids and bosses.
A soothing balm for my heart after my mom died.
Practical ways to overcome triggers – like LA traffic!
After my 3rd IVF, I needed to rebuild my life.
Yea – real life right? The small hardships, and the large. The big life events that threaten to alter your heart, and the minuscule one’s that silently eat away at your courage and trust.
You see – I’m not here to present you with a hippy-dippy esoteric practice that have no real-life applications. I’m only interested in pragmatic and practical Yogic techniques that can be used anytime, anywhere.
Enter Mantra Meditation….
I was working at a Fortune 40 company, with an MBA, and I was miserable. I was depressed. Infertile. And desperate.
So, I packed my bags and headed to India, home of my family, to get my Yoga Teacher certification. But after years of teaching, an injury brought on by endometriosis and IVF severely changed my practice.
It was at this time that I tried my 1st Mantra Meditation practice. And let me tell you, after it was finished, I felt on top of the world.
And I felt high.
Literally.
High on my own supply. It was great.
But more importantly, I felt relaxed. I had never spent a single minute without anxiety in my entire life. I’m not exaggerating for dramatic effect here.
I remember thinking after that 1st class, “huh, so this is what normal people feel like.”
Even to this day the memory is incredibly vivid.
And it changed everything.
Initially yes, the relief from my anxiety was more than enough to lure me into this beautiful path. But I quickly discovered the other benefits.
A true love & acceptance of self. And I don’t say that lightly. |
I didn’t have to live in depression and anxiety. |
A connection with the Divine that was in absolute shambles after fundamental religion. |
Faith. And trust. That I will always be ok. No matter what. |
I became obsessed with learning all about this more subtle form of Yoga. I couldn’t get enough. I felt like I had found the Fountain of Youth. I found something so special and magical.
Mantra Meditation vs Affirmations
My meditations use a combination of Mantra (sacred sounds) and Affirmations. I believe that both are important. Here’s why: Mantras are chanted in sacred languages (Sanskrit or Gurmukhi) and allow us to get out of the over-thinking mind and into the sound current.
Why is this important? Because we attach zero emotion to an ancient language that we don’t understand. When we chant “Sat Nam”, does any emotion come to you? What if you say “I am enough.” I’ll bet something comes up then.
The mind can’t heal the mind. So it’s helpful to use Mantra’s to drop below the mind into that holy place that is untouched by thoughts and emotions. Doing this allows new neural pathways to be laid down.
However, there is something to be said about hearing the TRUTH in your own language. That’s why the combination of Affirmations and Mantras are so powerful.
When I say both the Mantra and Affirmation together, both of their potencies are amplified:
Sat Nam
I accept all of me
The parts of me that I wish would just go away.
Sat Nam
But even if they stay for a while longer, or forever, they are welcome.
I will not push them down anymore.
All that I am is ok. My insides are good.
Sat Nam
What if you don’t know how to say the Mantra?
Recitation of Mantra is not about perfection. It is about leaning in the direction of the sound. Just following the sound of the Mantra really is good enough. All of the good forces around us reward effort. They smile in delight and notice intention.
You will not be left hanging.
Mimic the sound at 1st. Look at the screen to see the printed words if you’d like. But in the end, close your eyes, and let it come to you.
Because it will.
Mantras are powerful like that.
All of a sudden, you’ll be able to chant effortlessly. And it’s wonderful. You will feel so good. Free. Happy.
I’m so excited for you.
How can all of this help you?
I want to give you the ability to reach down into your own wealth of knowledge to comfort yourself. To bring more prosperity to yourself. To take control of your health.
This is all about you and your insane ability to make your life better, all by yourself.
I want to bring you these oftentimes secretive and hard to find practices so that you can grab what you want from this life. I want more for you and me.
I really do.
And I believe that once someone finds something that helps, truly helps, it is their duty to present it to others.
So I present these meditations to you. Try them out. Experiment with them. See if you feel better. I’ve loved creating each and every one of them. They were a gift given to me so that I could give them to you.
Jessica
